Universal needles have the significant advantage of generally being less expensive and can be used on dermographs produced by different companies. However, due to the intense price competition among various vendors, the quality of these needles has declined over time. They often use lower-priced stainless steel that releases large amounts of chromium and nickel, with rather approximate soldering and sharpening, which forces professionals to use more than one needle per treatment. Moreover, their cross-contamination protection systems (the famous membranes) have become less effective.

Fortunately, this “race to the bottom” has found its counterpoint in “custom” or “tailored” needles, which are permanent makeup needles designed to be installed exclusively on the machinery made by the same manufacturer. In this second category of dermopigmentation needles, we find established manufacturing companies that tend to offer superior quality, both in terms of raw materials and components used, the guarantee of sterilization, and their technical characteristic of forming a “ONE WITH” the micropigmentation machine.

It is technically and scientifically proven that universal needles, in order to be compatible with the highest number of tattoo machines from different manufacturers, are necessarily required to have significant dimensional tolerance. This results in the following issues during permanent makeup treatment:

– Vibrations
– Cartridge fluttering
– High noise levels

Additionally, these universal needles, having to fit many different dermographs, have variable lengths of plungers/transmission rods. As a result, the strokes of the machine cams are almost never respected, possibly working at a 2.5 mm stroke when the machine was bought to operate at a 3 mm stroke.

What is dermopigmentation?

Dermopigmentation consists in the deposition of pigment particles within the skin through sterile disposable needles to improve its appearance, enhance characteristics, correct aesthetic imperfections or discolorations, or recreate missing pigmentation.
The purpose of dermopigmentation can be aesthetic or restorative post-pathology, sometimes called medical dermopigmentation. The purpose of dermopigmentation can be aesthetic or restorative post-pathology, sometimes called medical dermopigmentation.
This practice includes what is commonly referred to as “permanent make-up” for lips, eyebrows and eyeliner. Microblading also falls into the permanent make-up category.
It can be done manually, like microblading, but a mechanical tool called a dermograph is needed to obtain the best results using the latest techniques.

Is there a difference between permanent make-up and semi-permanent make-up?

Although there is often some confusion, actually there is no difference between permanent make-up and semi-permanent makeup.
The two terms are used synonymously to indicate techniques very similar to tattooing, from which they differ in terms of the material used and the lower depth at which colors are positioned, colors which in dermopigmentation imitate make-up.
In dermopigmentation, however, bio-absorbable pigments are used, which are then reabsorbed by the body over a specific timeframe.

What does PMU mean?

PMU is the acronym for Permanent Make Up, the English term to describe permanent make-up and dermopigmentation activities in general.

What is a dermograph and how does it work?

A dermograph is an electromechanical device specially created for specific treatments such as PMU and other aesthetic treatments, such as trichological dermopigmentation (LINK CORSO, which is used to carry out dermopigmentation. The color is deposited in the superficial dermis through fine needles. Compared to a traditional tattoo machine, the dermograph is a more delicate tool and above all the needles and colors used in dermopigmentation guarantee a more precise and less traumatic intervention, especially on facial skin. Clinita dermographs can also be used for microneedling or bioinduction of collagen.

What is the difference between organic and inorganic pigments?

Inorganic pigments are substances usually obtained from mineral elements, while organic pigments are currently derived from chemical synthesis.

Organic colors are less stable but more durable over time so a careful production procedure is required to make them stable and insoluble in the skin so they maintain their brightness over time. To make organic pigments insoluble and stable, it is necessary to use binding agents which can be very expensive. On the other hand, inorganic pigments are naturally insoluble (and therefore do not require binding elements), less bright but opaque than organic ones, and bio-absorbable by the skin, although they may contain potentially allergenic impurities. Both organic and inorganic raw materials are safe and stable if the whole production process is strictly controlled. Organic and inorganic components can be used in synergy to make the most of their different characteristics.

How does microblading work?

Microblading is an eyebrow (but not only) tattooing technique performed with a manual tool.

Tools made up of small needles in sequence, similar to dermopigmentation needles (such as slopes or 11U) with which the color is deposited in the superficial layer of the dermis or papillary dermis.
Unlike dermopigmentation, which is carried out using a dermograph, it is therefore a completely manual procedure. Both permanent make-up techniques are effective but the difference requires different dexterity on operator’s part. It is important to choose the right technique for each skin type.

Pigments for dermopigmentation: the difference between organic and inorganic pigments

Until 2021, PMU pigments were classified as organic or inorganic. Inorganic pigments are normally obtained from minerals, while organic ones come from chemical synthesis.
Organic colours are considered less stable but more long lasting and shinier. However, in order to make organic pigments insoluble and stable, the use of binding agents, some of which are very expensive, is required. On the other hand, inorganic pigments are insoluble by nature (therefore no binding agent is required), but they are also less shiny and give more coverage compared to organic ones. In addition, they are bio-resorbable by the skin, although they potentially contain heavy metals which can cause allergies andwhose use is restricted by the regulation.

How pigments have changed after the Reach regulationh

Since 4th January 2022, the European Union, through the Reach regulation, has limited the use of more 4,000 chemicals employed in different industries, including tattoos and PMU. The objective was reducing as far as possible the risk of allergies and skin inflammation, thus establishing a new safety standard for all pigments.
The Reach regulation limits the use of inorganic pigments, preservatives, and thickeners and continues existing assessments and checks on aromatic amines, polycyclic hydrocarbons, and the sterile content of colours.

What is Clinita doing to comply with the Reach regulation?

Clinita has always placed major importance on the selection of premium raw materials and the safety of its production process, carrying out constant research to deliver effective and innovative pigments. Anticipating the Reach regulation, at the end of 2020 we changed the vector and preservative of our pigments, shifting from isopropyl alcohol to ethanol. The Reach regulation does not forbid the use of isopropyl alcohol, however it considerably reduces the allowed quantities as it is considered a potential skin irritant.
As a general approach, we decided to continue to use mineral pigments but reducing their content and increasing the organic ones, thus strengthening the range of “hybrid” pigments for which Clinita has become famous.

One such problem is hair fall which increases as we think more about it. Yes! That’s right stress is another aggravating factor for hair loss. This makes us turn to the internet, and when we sit down to google solutions we find two types of solutions:

1. Herbal time consuming stuff
2. Medical jargon explaining procedures that we are too afraid to pursue

What is hair loss?

A loss of more than 125 hair per day is defined as hair loss. Losing 50-100 hair a day is considered normal. Hair loss is when

What causes this?

Chemical treatment: hair colouring and frequent styling are becoming trendy and most of us are trying new stuff on. But
most of us had never thought that these frequent styling changes would lead to this, hair thinning and eventually loss of our precious mane.

Restrictive diets: the trends got us to get into shape and lose weight no matter what. And to attain this we took drastic measures starved our bodies and deprived them of most essential nutrients. These nutrient deficiencies show up most evidently on our hair and skin. In case of skin in the form of skin dullness and for hair thinning and patchy hair loss.

Stress: In medical terms stress is any major change that alters your bodies’ natural working phenomenon and makes it work
harder. It ranges from surgeries and dietary changes to emotional and lifestyle modifications that alters the brain’s chemicals. And boy do we have a few of these going on?

Hormones: from thyroid to sex hormones a number of hormonal levels effect hair regeneration and hair loss. Estrogen
deficit after menopause and hormonal changes during pregnancy all can cause hair loss.

Medications: and supplements: certain medications and excess of some supplements can also cause hair loss. Therefore always consult a professional if you experience hair thinning when using a medicine or supplement.

Aging: as we age our body loses its ability to regenerate cells as fast as they are being lost. Moreover the body’s supply and demand is also disturbed. All of this can contribute to the age related hair loss in addition to the hormonal changes that the
body undergoes.

How to detect hair loss

This question comes to all our minds. Am I really losing hair or is It just in my mind? Let us give you a few ways to confirm this as well

• Increased number of fallen hair in your comb or brush
• Widened parting or patches of hair loss
• You might see more hair in your shower and on your floors
• Scalp peeking out through the hair

What to expect from your GP

At times we reluctantly ask for help for Cosmetic and Aesthetic treatments, especially us men. Let me ease your anxiety by guiding you through your first doctor’s visit.

The doctor will ask your family and personal history of disease and any predispositions. They will also inquire about what products and treatments you use and how often you use them. They might also ask about any hair pulling or chewing habits that you have.

They will examine your hair closely and might even try and pull on one of the hair stands to check if the hair is breaking at the level of the root or strand. They will also check the pattern of hair loss.

Sometimes some blood tests need to be conducted in order to rule out hormonal (thyroid, sex hormones) causes and to determine if there are any vitamin (vitamin D, vitamin B) or mineral (zinc, iron) deficiencies. Unfortunately the treatment offering on the NHS can be both limited and lack priority.

What’s solutions do we offer outside of Hair Transplants?

All of these treatments have no downtime. Our fast paced lives obviously don’t allow us sufficient downtime. But that doesn’t mean you should not be able to restore and revitalize your beautiful mane.

PRP/PRF injections
Firstly what do these stand for PRP is platelet rich plasma and PRF is platelet rich fibrin. The basic difference is of the components that have been separated from blood. Let me start from the very beginning for these procedures blood will be drawn from your arm like you do for a normal blood test. This blood is then further processed. It is spun to separate blood cells from plasma (the fluid part of our blood). The plasma thus obtained is rich in platelets and is gold for the scalp.

PRF is the next generation of PRP. PRF preparation allows some of the white blood cells and stem cells to remain within the platelet layer that is collected for treatment. The lower spin speed causes less trauma to the individual cells of the blood, allowing more stem cells to remain in the final PRF product. Fibrinogen is the key. PRF consists of a fibrin matrix polymerized in a tetra molecular structure, with incorporation of platelets, leucocytes, cytokines, and circulating stem cells. Fibrin functions as a matrix that traps the platelets and controls their release of growth factors “slowly and continuously over 7-10 days.

Both PRP and PRF nourishes the scalp from within stimulating hair growth and strengthening the existing hair roots. PRF also contains stem cells. These are the baby cells and can transform into any kind of cell needed by the body when injected into the scalp they may serve to form new hair follicles and to strengthen and support the existing ones.

Biotin
Biotin deficiency can cause brittle hair and hair loss. Female & Male clients experiencing thinning hair are increasingly seeing the benefits offered by our treatment option. Biotin intra-muscular injections and intra-venus also go hand in hand for hair growth and strengthening.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)
SMP is a camouflage treatment. It’s like getting a tattoo, just that you are getting hair tattooed on your scalp. SMP just gives an illusion of hair, it’s not actual hair it’s just that a skilled professional can give u a tattoo that looks like hair. It can be done on bald people as well as people with thinning hair or receding hairline or just a more prominent parting. However it is not a cure or treatment it’s just a way to mask the perception.

Hair mesotherapy is treatment to nourish your hair with all the necessary vitamins and minerals.
